If you already have a primary care provider, I can offer diabetic consultation, assistance with device management, or other educational services. Enrollment in Medicaid has been delayed. Longship hopes to provide Medicaid services at a later date. Recommend discussing out of network coverage (reference direct pay services below) with Medicaid as this may be an alternative option.
Tricare is not accepting any new family practice providers in the West network as of July 2023. DO NOT GIVE UP HOPE! Longship is currently awaiting Tricare registration as an out-of-network provider. Tricare beneficiaries may be able to utilize Longship's services as an out-of-network provider. Click below for new patient forms.
Do you have questions about lab results, medications, or other general health inquiries? Longship can offer hands-free consultation for a reasonable fee. Longship also offers advanced consultations which may include referrals, lab orders, imaging orders, limited prescriptions, and more. This is a practical option for those who may already have a provider and are in need of additional support. Diabetes education and management is available.
Super billing is a beneficial option for many commercial insurances, functioning as an out-of-network claim. A client pays up front for medical services provided at time of appointment. Longship provides the client a detailed invoice listing services provided and associated billing codes (superbill). The client submits this invoice to their insurance for reimbursement (many claims can be submitted online). There are companies that help with insurance reimbursement, Reimbursify is one example.
How do I find out my coverage?
Most HMOs do not cover out-of-network. However, many other insurance options have some form of out-of-network coverage. Best practice is to reach out to your insurance company, ask about this option, how reimbursement works, and how reimbursement is covered.
Why is Longship not contracting with commercial insurance?
This practice is not uncommon and similar to how some single provider/small offices (behavioral health, counseling, massage therapy, functional medicine, etc.) operate. Longship can offer longer appointment times at reasonable rates by reducing expenses associated with rejected billing and lost funds.
